Who makes Car Sounds

Car Sounds: Engine Simulator is an app by RevIt, a small independent developer, available on the App Store and Google Play. This site is its home on the web: a library of the recordings in the app and explainers on why engines sound the way they do.

How we write the pages

Each car page pairs the app's recordings with an explanation of the engine behind them: layout, firing order, induction and exhaust. Specifications refer to the production car. Firing frequencies are calculated from cylinder count and rpm. Where tuned cars sound different from stock, the page says so.

Trademarks

Car names and model designations are used only to identify the vehicles whose sounds are featured. Car Sounds is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by any vehicle manufacturer.
